Halo refund!

Being an ex-semi-pro Halo 2 player, I got this on launch expecting the world from it.

It is now already gathering dust after various issues:

• It is incredibly difficult to get your group of friends together in one party without it completely screwing up, I must have restarted the game 6 times the last time I played it. It says people are in your party but actually aren't.
• Halo 1 still has crappy net code for campaign, even after all these years, not being the host when playing co-op makes it feel awful to play.
• Go in to a team based game (a Halo tradition of 4vs4) to be placed on a team of 5 or 6, and the teams always being unbalanced.
• Big Team Battle is 6 on 6 and usually locks out at 4v4 or 5v4 - huh? This is meant to be 7 or 8 per side, traditionally.
• They stated "the old matchmaking system". I adored Halo 2's system and expected this, alas, we now have some convoluted system in which it will only place you with people near you - I remember playing H2 against Americans and people from all over the world with little issue, why change this?
• As above, this means finding a game can take 10-15 minutes, even so you may still not have a game and just give up and put in a different game. I still cannot get a game for Halo 2 classic, at all - the whole reason I bought it.

It's a bit of a double edged sword - released with the above bugs and I'm sure many more people will just put it down and forget about it - I already have. This is going to do more harm in a seemingly already barren matchmaking system. And with all the hype behind it, there are so few people actually playing?



GTA V just launched on next gen so I'm now playing that alongside Diablo III a lot, and with the new Destiny Raid coming I will raiding in that too. Also, The Crew launches next week and I am REALLY looking forward to that. Halo has now turned in to my "nostalgia campaign" game, it'll rarely get a play unless I'm completely bored and don't fancy playing my other games.


On the plus side, Halo 2's campaign now looks significantly better in comparison the old graphics, I can hardly believe how bad they used to look, and I remember at the time thinking they were great looking - which they probably were for 2004. The Live Action show is pretty good too, just a shame the episodes are so short, I may wait a few months and watch them all in one go.
