Halo refund!

So to anybody that knows, Halo Master Chief Collection came out two weeks ago on the xbox one.
It's been unbelievably broken ever since. It's almost impossible to get a game online, and even when you find one it's got issues with uneven teams and people being disconnected randomly etc.
The campaign is also glitched. One of the biggest issues for me being progress not saving.
I bought it as part of a bundle from GAME. This included:
- Halo MCC
- Xbox One
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
(£350)
With an offer to get Xbox live for an extra £20.
This whole thing is just beyond a joke. Is there any way I can get a refund or something on Halo?

Probably not because it's a well known issue & is far down the line of being fixed (as in should be fixed this week if you believe the words coming out). Besides it was part of the bundle so it's not exactly straightforward & ultimately think the most you'd be looking at getting would be around the £10 mark. (£330 for the console, 20 for the two games - 10 each)
Ultimately though not exactly outwith the expected realm issue particularly with the matchmaking - not being smug, but it's probably one of the reasons I wouldn't have bought it knowing it was likely to happen.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
Believe it or not I don't usually buy games at launch because I expect these things. But Halo? this is pretty bad.
Even the campaign has issues !!!!!!.
Also they released a patch yesterday that either made things worse or did nothing for people.0 -
Trouble with this industry there is no set standard in which they can release a game to the public, ofcourse they are not going to drop it out before actual testing but if they really wanted bad press, the could release in it in wire frame format if they wish.
the trouble comes from publishers setting dates of release with CEO of the DEV company, and even the devs get unhappy that a game is released with problems that could lead to bad press by customers on day release and for weeks later while they rally round looking at all sorts of info trying to gaige a patch that fixes major issues such as memory leaks while glitches get patched as and when.
I would suggest looking at playing something else until the game is patched a few times over the next few weeks.0 -
you should have buy with discount price as you have acknowledge Christmas is around the corner0

Hi MoMoney, sorry to hear of your predicament - I imagine that Game will shrug their shoulders and come up with the line that the issues with Halo aren't their issue and to take it up with the publisher. Be patient though mate, I'm sure it will be fixed relatively quickly as Halo is a massive cashcow for them and they don't want to risk losing money on future releases by leaving this buggy.
Either way, I was going to purchase it today and now won't, so thank you for saving me gamers regret.Lurker for many years, now finally decided to join & sort myself out.Debt - Vanquis Credit Card = [STRIKE]£1,500[/STRIKE] £1,387.21 (01/01/15)Savings - HSBC e-saver = £0.01XBOX One GT - add me : "Phennarch"0 -

All games software (and other software too, unless you've personally commissioned it) has a little proviso in the small print within the instruction booklet.
Usually starts along the lines of
"This piece of software is sold "as is" " and then goes to talk about warranty, which if you read it is only of the physical disc, and the paper manual if you are lucky. There is no warranty that the game is playable, only that the disc can be read.
As others have said though, Bungie are pretty good at fixing bugs and it's a pretty high profile game so you'll be playing happily very soon. (as I imagine they'll try to get it fixed before Christmas or risk losing sales)
It's only a game

Its actually 343 Industries that own the Halo franchise now and not Bungie.

There is too much there to copy and paste it over so worth going to have a read.
I havent tried playing online for a couple of days though but it was very very slow at the beginning I agree. Online isnt a huge dealbreaker for me though as Im not great at it! As for campaign, my partner and I have been playing co-op on same console and not had any problems with saves.Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150 -
I recently got Halo mainly for the online soo dissapointed with performance I played 2 matches in about 2 hours. But have just left it and played Wolfenstein and forgot I even had Halo. So far Wolfenstein is the best game I have played on xbone0

Many games have the disclaimer that online gameplay experience may vary based on location, service speed and local network configuration \ hardware used, placing it outside of the responsibility of the retailer - who as others have said is more to do with the physical product supplied and its suitability, so short of the games developer requesting a recall its generally a case of waiting for it to be patched..0
