I did some pineapple chutney overnight in the slow cooker (first ever attempt), and it has turned out really lovely.
That sounds really nice - would you mind posting the recipe, pretty please?:o

Could I second that please? I have googled a few recipes but can't see anything specifically for a slow cooker and wonder whether the liquid would have to be cut back?

Had very little sleep as DH had tv on till 3 am but it helped him get to sleep eventually.

Will toddle down to shop later for full fat milk for energy drinks and a loaf. Might check for YS to put in freezer.

So pleased the dishwasher now works (hope that statement is not going to encourage it to run amok) as a lot of the drinks and supplements are protein and milk based and I worry about having cups and glasses as sterile as I can.

Looking forward to dd's wedding next weekend and crossing fingers DH can manage to attend ceremony and also speeches etc, Other dd will drive him to flat for a rest for an hour in between so he only has to do two one hour spells of socialising .

    Hester

Best wishes for your dd and hope they can sort out the band quickly.

So tired I can't remember who said what but hugs to all.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Yep, sure :)

    PINEAPPLE CHUTNEY RECIPE
    Ingredients
    1 pineapple
    1 cooking apple
1 cinnamon stick (or use 1 tsp ground cinnamon, which is cheaper)
1 tsp mustard (I use wholegrain but really, any will do: powdered or jarred!)
    1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp mixed spice (I use supermarket-brand ground mixed spice, which costs pennies)
    A few cloves
    100ml white wine vinegar
    100g sugar
    How to make it
    1. Peel, core and chop the pineapple into 1 cm chunks. This is the most difficult part of this recipe (ha).
    2. Peel, core and chop the cooking apple.
    3. Throw everything into the slow cooker. Give it a stir. Leave it overnight, on the low setting.

It's from the miss thrifty website. It's lovely.

Very late again as tablet is acting up so I can't use in living room.

Hugs to all who are not feeling well for whatever reason.

Tru...op is on 9th Dec, in at 7am on morning and hopefully home after 5 nights. Epidural anaesthetic which is apparently faster to recover from.

Thanks inkie for the chutney recipe, have made none this year but have had some from offspring.

We are to have frost for next few nights so have set heat to come on for an hour in the morning, this old house takes ages to heat up if let get too cold.

Promised myself to be in bed by 11 tonight, doesn't look doable!

    Stay safe and warm everybody
