Recovering Text Messages from Iphone

Hi

Can anyone tell me if I can recover my deleted text messages. Someone suggested they are automatically stored in the Icloud. If so, anyone know how I can get them back?

I have logged into Icloud but the message symbol isn't showing?

The only way to see messages in iCloud is to restore onto the phone itself.

You need to erase the phone (Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings)

When you're setting it up you'll see the option to restore from iCloud and will be able to choose the backup.

Important:

-Backup to a computer BEFORE you erase the phone incase you can't restore the backup (it maybe corrupt or some other issue), then at least you can get back to now and not be left with nothing (connect the phone to iTunes then Choose File > Devices > Back up.)

-iCloud only holds around 3 backups. Usually no more than 5-6 days ago being the latest. It maybe too late if you want to restore something from more than 1 week ago.
