I'm just very surprised that you don't appear to have heard of fracking. It's been fairly thoroughly discussed/debated/ranted-about over the last year or three.

    - inferring that everyone should know what fracking is (it's the controversial process of extracting shale oil by subterranean drilling and hydraulic injection) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydraulic_fracturing
    and that he's
    - patronising you for not knowing this

Less seriously, at least you don't have to worry about the other historic (and probably mythical) Manorial Right of 'Droit de Seigneur'- over the virginity of female serfs... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droit_du_seigneur

keep asking the Qs, and best wishes

Lol, I'm sure I'm not the only one who does not know what fracking means!

Haha going by the link you sent me, things could be worse..

    UPDATED:

My solicitor notified halifax via fax on Saturday regarding what he found in the searches (manorial and mineral rights) and halifax have now instructed the valuer to go back to the property to do another valuation bearing in mind the manorial and mineral rights. The halifax will then base there decision if they want to lend to me.

Not sure why they have gone down this route to be honest and how can something like this affect the value of the house :s

Anyway, just thought I would update you all x
