do you have contents insurance with accidental damage to electrical equipment?

cant see why ebuyer should have foot a bill to replace your laptop when you dropped it/nudged it or placed it in a precarious postion for it to fall or slip.

search your model number and screen size, buy in a replacement LCD screen and have a repair PC shop do the work? would be cheaper!
  • Just bought a replacement screen from eBay for 50 bloody quid

And missed the 50 quid cash back deadline on the laptop

    !!!!ing karma

By the way, the question was 'am I covered by anything'.

Not 'who will replace it for free'

Secondly, tut tut, why pay a pic repair shop when it's a case of removing a few screws?

Thirdly, who said I dropped it or nudged it into a droppable position?

    Facts, Watson, facts.

    Then enlighten me with some?

"laptop fell for a small height" I assume it didn't all of a sudden develop Artificial Intelligence evolve and grow wings and then fell from its maiden flight.

Who or what caused it to drop from a small height?.

What do you think you were covered by?

why do you think you were covered by what ever you thought should have covered you?

if you wanted facts then perhaps you should have provided more factual information.

some home contents insurance apply a low excess to accidental cover I know my parents have insurance that covers accidental electrical cover for laptops for an excess of £25.00 on the first claim never said it was claim free! saving you £25.00 on your purchase of a screen depending on the policy!

thirdly opening up the laptop yourself will invalidate your warranty!! taking it to a authorized repairer will retain your warranty!! but please go ahead and open up those few little screws yourself!

geeze you try and help people you try to, and then they pic at it.

I wish you good luck as I doubt people will try and help you with your response and im done here.

The other day a highly experience IT pro in my office picked up a laptop and it was suddenly yanked from his hands and fell from a small height. Did you guess? He'd left a headphone socket connected and the wire snagged on something. Can happen to the best of us.

DIY repair? Only some brands are at all easy to take apart.
Go to your local indoor mart, find the stall that sells cheap accessories and does phone & laptop repairs and get an estimate.
