I like to extend them for as long as i can preferable 240 days

the 15-30 day option does raise your bep but it does help with not having so many due all at the same time so i can see an advantage with doing that somtimes.

People might want to look at this, which sets out changes to Crowdflower quiz mode and also the login procedure:

In short there will no longer be payment for Quiz Mode completion but there will be for non-Quiz Mode tasks that result in expulsion. Additionally, there will always be follow-up tasks after answering a block of questions in Quiz Mode.

The other change will require login through Facebook, not sure how this will work with third party platforms. This change will be implemented from 6th April.

The forthcoming changes may explain why work seems to have dropped off lately?

I don't really want them any where near my facebook. If it is compulsory I will be using my fake account used for signing up for offers.

    I don't actually have a FB account

if it is compulsory then you do have to think why if they are promising never to post i suspect that perhaps some of the future tasks will include facebook related tasks ? or maybe task authors want more information about us.

They will probably gather demographic info of their users and use for stats / advertising etc. Same as FB do themselves when they sell info to advertising companies.

I don't like the sound of having to log in through Facebook :( I don't do that for other sites and I just don't know enough about Facebook to know how much data they could gather about us by doing this. I am naturally suspicious about such things.....

..Is it possible to set up a fake account as someone mentioned? Can you just do it by using a different email address? If so that might be the way to go for me..

you can create a fake account many do already for twitter tasks where you have to retweet or search etc but obviously its if you ever try to log into your real FB account by mistake and then they associate that FB account with your CF they probably won't like that or am i being OTT with that assumption lol

There is a thread on the CS task forum talking about these changes on CF. It looks like they want to go the FB login route as a way of authenticating users and to try and stop bots etc. However, as someone pointed out on the thread, it is just as easy to set up multiple fake FB accounts and defeats the whole object of what CF are trying to do.

The thread is called: Upcoming changes and is in the task section of the forum if you want to give it a read.

I'm trying to find the thread and have given up. Would you mind posting a link up. I wouldn't mind seeing what people are saying. I have mixed views on the quiz mode changes, it may be neutral overall.

I have noticed lately that some task authors are correcting unfair corrections within hours, which is reassuring and seems to fit with the changes that are on the way. If all task orders reviewed corrections properly I'm sure this would help us all and save a lot of frustration.
