Oh ok........I know nothing. I only cut about 200 sheets a year so I'm all ears.

Just out of interest how do "you" cut through Melamine faced MDF with no tear out?.

If you were as knowledgeable as you claim you would know how. This is about helping the OP and for a couple of cuts is not going to help him. So if you do not know stop waving your todger about and live in ignorance. Good night.

I do know how and explained........ You can't use a jigsaw as a "down cut blade" if you want a good finish as it will break out the melamine on the underside, an "up cut " jigsaw blade will do the opposite with break out to the top. Even if you score it with a stanley knife jigsaw blades are not designed to cut straight so they wonder. A circular saw or skill saw can be used with a straight edge or fence but you still need the correct blade.

Its called a "triple chip" within the trade.......

If you bothered to read my post I said "to get a good finished edge on MFMDF it needs to be cut with a "tripe chip" saw blade". If Andrew would be happy with tear out then he can cut it with a handsaw.

This is about helping the OP and for a couple of cuts is not going to help him.
And if you bothered to read my previous post I offered to cut the sheets for him..

Says the man who won't explain how he cuts the sheets without tear out..... "Todger waving and living in ignorance"

    Oh the irony.....................
  • I have a lingdong blade from China, was £1.99 with free p+p (online auction site).
Have cut over 1000 sheets and it is still as good today as it was last September when it arrived on my doorstep.
It was packaged remarkably well, is a lovely black gloss in colour, and even smells quite nice too.

I get good results with a fine blade on my table saw. I've cut down plenty of kitchen cabinets and made infill pieces this way.
Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!
