Would you give a refund in these circumstances?

Buyer bought a baby's dress from me and has emailed asking for a refund because it's not long enough. I hadn't stated the length in the listing and neither had she asked. I wondered what everybody else does in this scenario as I haven't been asked for a refund before.
Should I give her a refund as a gesture of goodwill or tell her to do a running jump?
TIA

Personally I wouldn't refund but if she paid by paypal she might try a sneaky on you and claim for non delivery so be warned.

Give her a refund as good will, you don't want bad feedback from her do you? You can re-sell it but this time giving the length of the dress.0

Personally I wouldnt, she should have thought to ask.
I thought ebay was "buyer beware" although would check if she's given you feedback first as not worth risking a negative....0 -
Thanks for your replies.
Problem is that I have already left +feedback for her so if I don't give her a refund then I run the risk of neg feedback.

I personally wont not give her a refund as the item was as described.BUT if you do want to give her a refund , I would not in this case refund her postage. So she will have to pay for the postage back to you and you are not out of pocket for posting the item in the first place. If she negged you for this I would think much of her, as you did everything correct.0

Maybe you could offer a discount on the price of the item or is that not really possible? Its worth losing a couple of quid if it saves you the hassle of a neg and arguing through paypal etc... if you have an email that discusses the dress then keep it as it is admitting to having recieved it and may help you if she does file a paypal claim. What about suggesting to meet her half way on the cost???
If you're not keen on this then stick to your guns, babies dresses lengths hardly vary by so much that it will be such a problem to her - i doubt she'd try ever dress in a shop on her daughter (or whoever the dress was for) so sounds to me like she's just trying it on... if it was a mini skirt and you'd sold it as a long flowing christening gown then maybe she'd have a case but a dress is a dress nine times out of ten isn't it?? oh and yes I do have a baby girl so have first hand experience - lol!Official DFW Nerd 210

I would not give her a refund - we all buy on ebay without seeing the goods. The item was not faulty.. it is not your fault that her baby is tall! I would suggest SHE resells the item as it is not suitable. If she does give you negative feedback you can reply to it. If you have good feedback a negative will not do too much harm-especially if you reply to it for all to see. I personally think she has a cheek! Was it a special occasion dress? Perhaps she wore it once and does not need it anymore!I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes
