power in a flat I am renting

Hi
Doesn't matter why, (happens to be that I have sensitive hearing and don't like the noise my sensitive ears can hear), but I would like to turn off the power to or unplug, the kitchenette unit in the studio I am renting.
I plan to ask the estate agent but if they say it's not possible then what can I do?
In the flat I used to rent, there was a power switch in the flat that did it. But in this flat I don't see one.
What can I do if e.g. the estate agent says it's not possible, or that the power goes to all the flats and they can't be turned off individually?
The kitchenette doesn't seem to be movable.
What are my options?
none?

What is a kitchenette unit, is it an oven ??0

what I meant by 'kitchenette unit' in this case a stove. no oven interestingly. below the stove is a cupboard and a fridge/freezer.

If there is no obvious switch, can you see elsewhere a consumer unit?
Where the fuses go.
You should be able to isolate it on the unit and turn it off there.
And I really don't like the look of that "kitchenette" thing, is it even safe?63 mortgage payments to go.

Probably no switch nearby as water and electricity don't mix. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

At my previous flat there was a switch far from it that turned the power off.
This thing has a switch near it but it doesn't turn it off.
I guess my question then is what are my options?
Would any electrician even have a look at it? if they thought they can't do anything with it
I am wary of asking my estate agent and they say nothing can be done and that I can't call somebody in to have a look.. And i'm not sure who I can call to have a look. I don't want to do that. And I can't make any proper change to the flat as it's not my flat i'm just renting.
It's in north london. I just tried calling one local electrician he said £70 to have a look and do what I want within the hour but if he can cut power off and I don't want it as I don't want something radical like that as I don't own the flat(I just rent it), but then it's still £70.0 -
There is usually a socket close to or behind these mini kitchen units that a 13amp plug can be inserted into.
If turned off fridge/freezer will not work
If fridge is making noise can you turn it off at internal fridge controlThe world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
You learn something new every day. I have never seen anything like that arrangement in all my long life.
Why would a switched off electric ring make any noise at all? The fridge freezer would need to be left switched on, unless you do not use it for keeping things cool.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

I don't know about OP but some people can hear electricity.
I could hear it as a child and it used to drive me insane.
Like white noise it was63 mortgage payments to go.

yes there is that, but one technical point.. some types of component, depending on how they are made, can make a noise that one with sensitive ears can hear. So, it wouldn't be just any electricity. And while e.g. one television might have the problem, another might not. (an unbearable high pitched noise), one can google 'coil noise'. Though in this case i'm not hearing coil noise. This noise isn't high pitched but it's still a noise most probably wouldn't notice.0 -
Never seen one hardwired they’ve always had plugs on them standard 13 amp look around and behind it etc keep turning of plugs till you find the one its connected too I believe only have short 2 meter cable on them
