Vanquis haven't cancelled my card as requested

I haven't used my Vanquis card in about 6 months. My balance was always paid in full and I didn't owe anything. After getting a new MBNA card, I chose to cancel my Vanquis. I called and they told me it was cancelled, and that I would receive my last statement and cancellation notice shortly.

It's now 45 days later and I have received no final statement and no cancellation. They have also sold my phone number to a company who call all day with 'offers' claiming to be Vanquis.

Any suggestions of what I should do I have already cut up the card and disposed of it?

Give them a call and ask them of the status of your account. Change your marketing preferences whilst you're on.

You could also check your credit report to see if they have reported the account as settled.

They said this to me and I never received any notice either. I just got locked out of the online account.

I'd check your credit reports.
