Many thanks for all the replies and advice it's appreciated

There's several faults not enough padding in arm rests, head rests don't align and chrome work is pitted discolored with black marks and mis shaped which clearly can't be polished out. Pretty major faults

As for the soga dfs keep telling me they have met their obligations by offering me a repair. I have told them I have rejected the goods the day of the delivery and wanted a replacement however 4 weeks on I now want a refund as I refuse to deal with these cowboys

So just to clairfy my next move take Hitachi to the FOS and dfs to the furniture ombudsman? And depending on the outcome small claims for dfs or would it be both companies?

Does it cost anything to deal with the furniture ombudsman eg inspection?
  • Much as would love to cancel the dd I don't think I can according to fianace co I have signed the agreement. However I think once it's disputed to fos I can with hold payments as it's in dispute I will ask them

As for dfs I think I may need to contact TS and maybe go down the small claims route .. However I'd like to hear from anyone who have been in a simlair suitation
As I'm little confused who I should be contacting and taking who to court

I've had a call from dfs in Edinburgh for some reason still insisting on repair and seem not to care which isn't a surprise total cowboys

I'm not sure but will be finding out however I think TS and small claims for dfs are clearly in breach of soga

Okay people, this matter was refered to the FOC and FO the FOC have been surprising great they ruled in my favour, DFS rang today to arrange pickup of the sofa.

Now the letter they were sent it clearly stated a storage charge of £5 per day. Can someone here help me draft a final demand for this please? If they don't cough up the money it will be small claims court for DFS
Brian from Tollcross DFS if your reading this I suggest you act on this ASAP as I will not give up and will chase you for every penny for the 6 months of inconvenience and wasted time !
