google+ auto backup photos

have google auto backup switched on for my photos on my phone. google is also set to auto backup all my photos on nas drive.
if i move all my photos (already backed up by google) from my phone to my nas (syncing with google) will the photos from my phone be duplicated on google photos?
i am getting near my 100gb storage limit. pity google don't do 200gb like one drive

My guess is they take a hash of the file and only upload if the hash is different.0
