Tru well done on making the right decision. It ain't worth the anguish. I've always said I'd love to be well enough to work again, but it'd have to be something Totally On My Own; there is no way I could cope with being around other people all day, I'd be a nervous wreck within a week.

Saw the physio-terrorist yesterday evening. The bad news is it's definitely down to the arthritis, and is basically incurable. All we can hope for is damage limitation. I have some light exercises to do, I'm to use my splints to do certain tasks (eg vacuuming) and she wants me to build in more rest periods - this is going to be a problem, as I keep falling further and further behind with my tasks as it is.

She also asked if I could take some time out to watch tv (ie do nothing) - the problem with that is that I actively dislike tv, and can only tolerate it if I'm doing something else at the same time, like knitting, or cross stitch - or, as is usually the case these days, finishing up dealing with my emails.:rotfl:

I know the idea of rest is probably good advice but if you are mentally gritting your teeth it sounds counter productive. Could you do something like meditation or conscious relaxation so you don't feel you are doing "nothing"?

Good luck with the eye operation.

Still trying to get calories into DH but managing to do a few more things apart from watching the poor guy like a hawk!

Posted off two different lace boleros for oldest to try with her wedding dress. Wedding is next weekend so hoping DH will be recovered a bit by then.

Had some very black bananas and used them up this morning for banana pancakes with bacon and sausages for me and dds as a brunch.

Went shopping for a couple of hours yesterday with dds and got curtains, nice picture, mantel mirror. fancy wall clock and a couple of ceiling lamp shades for her living room and bedroom.

Made YS steak for very early dinner with mixed fresh veg and middle dd has just gone off to fancy dinner dance tonight.

    Hugs to all

Just moved a super king bed in our bedroom as DH thought this would be beneficial for breathing etc.

Hoovered around and moved bedside tables etc.

It looks very odd as the room only has one place a bed should fit - and this ain't it!!!

Tried to make sure obstacles were reduced so he doesn't fall or hurt himself in the night.

If we get viewings of the house will have to move it all back but if it helps him in the meantime it is worthwhile.

It would be nice if he had the idea in the afternoon or a bit earlier

Everything now shifted and I am shattered and watching tv for an hour.

  • Spent all morning at London hossy it was a nightmare getting there, it took 2 hours because of a snarl up on the M1, quelle surprise, finally got home at 2pm absolutely shattered and in pain because he twisted it around a lot :( so I took a couple of tramadol and went to bed. DD woke me at 6pm :eek: So dinner was a nice easy one of egg, beans, mushrooms and chips.

Registrar was not a happy bunny when I told him that the GP hadn't done a thing about physio and he was less than impressed that my local hossy doesn't have a hydrotherapy pool. So now I have to travel there every two weeks to have two hours of intensive physio and hydrotherapy then I have to go back in January, then he will re-assess me and we will go from there.

He also wanted to know why I wasn't on the waiting list to have the collapsed discs in my neck sorted, so I told him I had been given time to think about having such a dangerous operation but he wants me to have that operation done as a priority a)because it is dangerous and b) I will need upper body strength to cope with recovery after surgery, especially as I need both knees done.

So it looks like I will be having three major ops in three years :eek::eek:

Csarina.........I hope the eye operation went well xx

LW I understand where you are coming from about blurdy arthritis :(:(

Off to warm my tosies in front of the stove.

    sweet dreams everyone xx
