Sky+ HD query

One of my sisters is having problems with her Sky+ HD system.

Firstly the sound on HD channels is poor on all TVs apart from the one connected directly to the box (via HDMI). All other TVs are connected via coax that goes from the skybox to a booster that distributes it by coax to the other TVs. The effect is that the sound is very distorted and crackly on some occasions when watching HD, but not ordinary channels.

Secondly between 5am and 5:30am the Sky box will not switch on either by remote or pressing buttons on the box itself. Any other time it turns off and on normally.

It is unlikely to be the box because it has already been swapped for these easons and the new box is the same.

Thanks for any help.

The coax output (RF modulation) is rubbish in this day in age. If there's a bad picture and sound, that's normal. Not crackling though. Is the crackling due to the TVs being up so loud?
If you go into the sound settings on the sky box, is it set to Dolby D? If you don't need that, can you try switching to stereo or normal, and see if that improves it?
There may be some settings on the booster you can tweak, do you know the model number?
Not switching on at that time - I would simply guess it's doing an EPG or software update...
