PCN from Smart Parking - Advice needed

Hi all,

I have read through several posts but haven't found one similar to my case. I just received a PCN from SmartParking (it was sent to my mother's address and has my maiden name which is unusual as I have changed my details with DVLA). The ticket says my discount period has expired and to pay £70 within the next 14days.

It also mentions that I was given a ticket but there was no ticket attached to my vehicle when I was at ASDA.

It says the contravention time was 12:19 but I left there before since I had an appointment at 12 and I was not late.

I have receipts and proof of the purchases I made but I don't know whether to appeal or just pretend I didn't receive the letter since it was sent to my mum's address and has the wrong name.

Can you help please?

Just send the first appeal letter (template) that you will find in the Newbies sticky thread - if sending it online you may have to shorten it to m make it fit, but that's up to you. Smart will cancel a month or two later. Easy peasy to beat them.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi I have just noticed this forum and wondered if anyone can help me. I have just received a letter from smart parking saying I owe a parking charge of £160 I have never had any letters from them regarding a parking ticket and they are now saying they are taking me to court for an unpaid parking charge? I telephoned and was met with the cheek of a woman saying I have to take it up with royal mail as I told her I had not had any letters from them, what do I do now should I try and pay but at end of the day I always display a disabled badge when parking as my wife is registered disabled? I am very worried. We are in Scotland aslo so not sure how the law goes here.
  • Start your own thread!

Read and digest the NEWBIES thread and don't divulge who was driving as luckily your in Scotland.

Read the NEWBIES sticky thread - which covers Scotland separately at the bottom of the first post in that sticky info thread. To see the sticky threads at the top of the current thread list, just use the 'Forum Jump' on the right, now...click GO (obviously)... Please don't ask for a link to the Newbies thread, it's one click away! Links are almost never useful for a newbie; it's best to click and learn how to use any forum.
