How do some sellers list without photographs?

Options
I've noticed quite a few sellers over the past few weeks that have managed to list items without a single picture & where the main picture would normally be displayed is the ebay message stating that seller hasn't yet uploaded any pictures. How do they manage to get away with this does anybody know?

It isn't that I want to do it myself, but if I've ever forgotten to upload my pictures when doing a listing, I get a message pop up from ebay stating that I must include at least one photograph & until I upload my pictures I can't go any further with doing the listing.

Also, there has been the odd occasion when I've had multiple pictures showing the item I've listed & ebay will refuse to allow me to continue with the listing if it feels one picture doesn't comply with their policy (tends to be something to do with the resolution). I would have thought if you had say 6 good pictures & one not so good one that as long as your good ones by far outnumber one that ebay doesn't consider good enough, that the listing would go ahead without having to completely dump the not so good picture.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

  • You just use Paint (or whatever) to create an image with the text "No Picture Uploaded" then upload that instead.

I think it is the first picture that has to be up to standard.

I have found that if the first is good, then the rest can be 'not so good' without causing a problem.

I think they must have changed things then as even if I try to have the 'not so good' picture last, the system still refuses to let my listing go any further until I remove the pic completely. It's just such a pain, especially when selling an item still sealed in full retail packaging & the only pic I have of the package completely open is an old one & typically turns out to be the one ebay just won't accept.:(

Cattie, Just do what I do when my photos I've happily used for years suddenly fail to meet the new image "quality" (actually read resolution) standards and simply resample the exact same photo to a higher resolution using any free photo editor.

Alternatively, either myself or many others on here would be happy to do it for you. :)

    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

I can't remember which way round it is, but if you list on the app, or the classic site, it allows you to post without a photo.
Generally speaking if I haven't had my photo ready and I just want to reserve the listing I just take a photo close up of anything so it shows as blank and that's always accepted.
