Hi guys, I use my i-pad now purely for banking.
I have no trouble with the numerous banks I have accounts with, EXCEPT, Tesco;
For some reason, Tesco will not recognise my i-pad, even though I tick the box, remember this computer.
I then have to generate a OTC to log in with phone.
Not a big deal, at least It's secure, but, a bother.
Has anyone else had this trouble.
Tesco say they have trouble with it.HISTORY.?
I use Safari browser, Google seems to take ages.
Have not put Chrome on my i-pad::

Maybe your browser is set to clear cookies when you switch it off?
Here's the Tesco spiel:
Question:
Why don't you recognise my computer?
Answer:
As an additional security measure, we store a small security token on your computer or mobile device which lets us recognise it when you log in to Online Banking. We don't store any private or personal information about you or your accounts.
There are a few reasons why the token may not be on your computer or mobile device:- You didn't ask us to recognise your computer when you registered for Online Banking or when you changed your login details
- You're using a computer or mobile device that you've not asked us to recognise before
- You've deleted your browsing history. This removes the token from your computer or mobile device
- Your security software has stopped us storing or has removed the token on your computer or mobile device

I'm not a lover of Apps, but worth a shot.Does it give you all the facilities that normal login does via browser ?
Haven't cleared History.or cookies.and always ask it to remember this computer
It's the only bank that does it.?
Tesco said I-pad clears history when closed,I don't think so, but, I could be wrong ?:beer:0 -
I must admit that I prefer using Firefox on my desktop PC rather than the app. It may just be that the bigger screen makes it more comfortable for me. The app is fine for checking balances; I haven't used it for anything else but all the functionality appears to be there.
One potential drawback is the reduced security when logging in. Only a 5-figure code needed rather than two-from-six plus your password via a browser. This seems to be typical of banking apps, though. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

I prefer my PC, but, I never bank on it now since it was hacked, hence the I-pad.Lost faith in it, PC, even though It's showing all clean.Just surf and general use on it, but anything secure, password related NO.
Better safe than sorry.
Thinking of another PC.
Don't like I-pad , only for banking, like you, screen too small.easy to press wrong digit;;;;;done it before.
I move money around all the time.0 -
That's why I prefer proper browser login, more secure.

Agree with you in that it's too easy to make mistakes in banking when using tablets. I prefer to use the pc for banking and hacking is a real worry. I suspect that there's more hacking goes on than is revealed.
I'm pretty savvie tech wise, BUT, a novice compared to Hackers.
I'm forever cleaning, checking PC,complete wipe several times, but, there's always that doubt.
B/MID stopped my A/c, until I jumped through hoops, hacked, but, they never said what it was.
I don't like Rapport, but, got it on, and every week my report says wrong IP address for Santander.
I never go to Santander on PC, only I-PAD.?
That's only one of the doubts that it's still compromised.?
Too many cards on the Mantle shelf now;;:rotfl:
paranoid about security.0 -
I would try installing a different browser and clearing cookies and history on current browser-X-Missima-X-0
