Date format changed

Until recently, I was running Windows XP at work, and because of an error with some software, and network problems, which our IT guy couldn't solve, he decided to put Vista business on my pc. I had a database created in Office 2003, which although still works, there are some strange things happening, which our IT guy can't figure out.
In a form, I have a date field, with the format set to dd/mm/yy. This has always worked before. Now if I type in 19/11/14, it automatically changes to 14/11/2019. The only way to get it to display the correct date is by typing 14/11/19. I've checked the date settings, and the regional settings in Vista, and Access, and they are set correctly (English, United Kingdom). Anyone any ideas what might be going on?

What do you mean by a database?

Do mean MS Access or is it Excel or another product?
  • You created it in Office 2003, but are you using office 2003 to open it or later version?

  • Thanks for the replies, our IT has finally sorted it, sort of. My access (2003) database is still giving the wrong date, so he says it must be the databases date format that needs looking at. I've checked the table, and the form used to collect the data, and both are set to Short Date, but when I type in they revert to the wrong date as mentioned in my first post.
