tesco

Hi, I purchased a new hudl from tesco and it went wrong so I took it back and exchanged it for a new one with 12 month warranty, after 7 months the new one stopped working properly and I called tesco and explained what the problem was and they said all they can offer me was a second hand one that had been refurbished, I said that I wanted either my money back or store credit as I was not prepared to accept a refurbished one, they said that if I did not accept their offer then there was nothing they could do for me...is this legal to refuse me either my money back or store credit, I have contacted them several times in different depts but they refuse to discuss this matter any further. Does anyone know what I can do next.

Your 12 month warranty will run from the date you bought the first one.

They are offering a replacement unit , you have no right to a refund

Tesco are acting within the law and probably within the terms of the original warranty. They are giving you a suitable remedy, they do not have to give you a full refund on a 7 month old tablet.

Especially as this 7 month old tablet was already a replacement for the originally purchased one.
It could be anything up to about 19 months since the original transaction.

They might very well withdraw their offer and then it will be up to you to try your luck going down the SOGA route.

If I was Tesco that would be my next move.
