Just a quick :hello: will try to get back later.
nlmc The CH system does not have to be drained to take a radiator off, just switch the valves off each side of it, and then undo it, and have a bucket ready to poor the (black) water into, and make sure you have a little dish under each valve (just in case of drips), and the rest of the system will work. Unless you need to modify the pipework, there is not need for draining. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Good Morning all I am a happy bunny this morning as my CH is fixed at last and my house is warm and cosy again.I hate the cold, and having been brought up in a house that was freezing in the winter ( and sometimes in the summer as well) I really appreciate CH as my aged joints just don't work as well in the cold.:)
But all's back to normal although I am somewhat lightened of a large chunck of moolah, still nice to have a shower in a warm bathroom
Eldest DD is popping in this morning after a local meeting she has to attend so no doubt I will hear all of her woes ,bless her she is the sort whose glass is always half empty, yet she is far better off finacially than her sister who is virtually permanantly broke with her tribe ,but a lot happier .Weird isn't it how two DDs can be so different. But being a good Mum I will do the "there, there, never mind dear" and make her coffee and probably lunch and send her off feeling better:):)You just never stop being a Mum do you even when your DD is the wrong side of 47
:):)
Right chums onwards and upwards I want to whoosh the vacuum around the sitting room and tidy the kitchen up a bit
Take care and stay warm
Cheers chums

Afternoon all,
Well it is a typical November day here. Cold, damp and misty, but hey ho, we must expect it.
Yesterday managed to get to Ikea and bought a few bits, so pleased with that, and then this morning before going to see DD went to Card F**tory to buy the individual Christmas cards and 2 more birthday cards. One of the birthdays is a 21st at the beginning of January, so thought I must buy that one now because the card shops will be heaving after Christmas with the sale stuff.
Jackie you wouldn't think our 2 daughters had come out of the same mouldthey are like chalk and cheese. A good listening ear and a cuddle, no matter what age they are, helps.
Judi, I hope the personal business sorts itself out for you, and not a good conversation to have in front of your Mum. I have already had this conversation with DD1 (who is a nurse) and she knows exactly what my wishes are.
Have a good Wednesday all.

Actually, the timing was good, as we were out at the opera last night, which means being out of the house for over 4 hours; also because of the extreme fatigue I get, I needed to rest for most of the day in order to enjoy the performance.MrsLurcherwalker wrote: »Docky seems to actually be more contented and less anxious so I do think the Zylkene is making a difference. He actually slept right through last night until 6.45 when a little whiskery face with a very cold nose came under the duvet to say good morning wagging frantically at the other end, bless him!!!
I have to see the physio-terrorist this evening. Scared doesn't even begin to describe it.:eek::eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Well the nurse didn't just talk to me she went over and asked the same questions to the other residents... Those who were able to make decisions for themselves. When the nurse asked me if we could talk about "end of life" care plans the first thing that came to my mind was Liverpool Care Pathway but was relieved when she said it had been phased out. Not that I am totally against it, I just think there weren't enough safeguards put in place and doctors were putting patients on it without the knowledge of the families of the patients. Anyway, its not for me to pass opinions, just saying my observations.
Well at least I can take pride in what I said, wasn't said behind closed doors and I could say in front of my Mother. I am 100% my Mom if she didn't understand what I said, would have agreed with me if she could. All is ok with me. Despite being tired as I didn't sleep at all well last night. Too much going round in my head.
Attacked the house with the steam cleaner this morning. It was a bit of a pain as I couldn't find the extension lead as the cable isn't very long.
Usual daily chores completed plus 3 of the downstairs windows have been cleaned.

Afternoon all,
Had a lovely day today. I'd offered to help with the 'Forest School' on Wednesday mornings and so stayed all morning to do that. It was brilliant fun. The school I work in is in a village and I am very surprised that with a lot of woodland on the doorstep they have never done anything like this before. I do so love the woods and it was helped by really quite mild weather albeit a bit damp.
I've made a bread pudding this afternoon which will please DH as he loves it and it's very OS using the crusts which no one seems to like.
It's the time of the month when DH's bills all come in and I can't believe that on two of his credit cards he uses I have overpayed so much. I think I was too zealous last month as he now has quite substantial credit amounts.
