Which type of camcorder

Im looking at getting a camera for my honeymoon and in the same sticky situatuion as well
I was looking at the HDD cameras for easy of use and thought they would be better for editing on a pc but now I am not so sure.
The mini-dv seems to be of better quality than dvd/HDD and they are a lot cheaper as well.
Can anyone confirm how easy it is to pc edit your footage with these - do you suffer from lip-sync problems or anything like that? I think I will prob go for a mini-dv but the pc edit things is holding me back at the moment.
I also want something small and easy to use / carry about so that I use it alot
Any advice appreciated - especially from people who have used more than one format!0 -
The editing is only as good as the software you are using. The process is no different between formats (Mini-DV, HDD, DVD). The only difference between them is the speed to transfer to the PC. I have never had a lip sync problem with my Mini-DV and I have edited over 100 hours worth0

Thanks to all for this great thread which has given me a great idea for which type of camcorder to buy but could someone answer me a couple of questions regarding editing as I have only ever editied using a VCR.
Do you have to buy a separate wire to transfer footage and how does it transfer from the tape to the PC?
Also, which ids the best software for easy editing and perhaps adding music for example?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.0
