Hello guys,
Just wanted to share something with those of you who have never been offered a limit increase with Aqua.
I sent a message through the online email facility and received a letter saying no I was not eligible and to try again in 6 months.
I rung up today and said I had just had my 4th statement was I eligible for an increase and have gone from £100 to £1100 so a whopping 100% increase.
It's worth a go if you've never been offered an increase.

I didn't even know you could get a credit card with £100 limit

I lowest I had ever know of was £250Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Yeah, started with a £100 limit as was first credit card. Was shocked at how much they increased it by but I won't be using that much! Not with the apr as high as it is.0

In the grand scheme of things, a £1000 limit is nothing, especially not to the banks.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

All this negativity and patronising!
Not one positive response!
It is a big thing for the original poster as it was for me!
I started off with £200 limit from Aqua and within 3 months it had gone up to £750 and within 5 months it is now £1800.
I have been paying it off in full and I understand they increase the limit because they are not getting interest but for people who have a low limit it really helps. I also have an Initial card which I got at the same time as Aqua and it is still at a lowly £150. I would obviously prefer my limit to go up to a reasonable amount with that but Aqua have been good too me and the original poster so be impressed and happy for us!0 -
I too have an Aqua card with a £250 limit and would like to get this increased so will try calling them soon.
I plan to close the card in the long run when I can get a decent reward card, but for now it is used as a means to buy larger purchases to get the credit card protection and then paid off in full - unfortunately not many of the purchases I would like to get the protection on are under £250 though!0 -

To be fair, on an Aqua card it is quite high, especially as the OP only started out on £100 limit.
Having said that, it does depend on the card I am led to believe.
Those of us who took out the 3% cashback card will know that the initial credit limits were generally either £500 for those with a good credit history or £250 for those with a less good credit history (and other applicants were refused a card entirely)
Even after 6 months, people struggled to get additional credit increases in excess of about £100-£250
Mind you, I'd never hold an Aqua card again, not after the lies they told even to the ombudsman. Took me almost 12 months to get credit back they owed after I opted to allow them to close the account (and that was with the repeated support of the FOS). Still not convinced they have actually closed the account, despite them now telling me in writing it is at last closed.0
