Sky multi room, wireless or what cable?

Just moved into our new home and want Sky in 3 rooms, lounge, kitchen and upstairs bedroom. Can you get Sky boxes that are wireless and need no cable to them (other than power obviously) to save unsightly cables running around the house (can't imagine the Sky engineer lifting carpets and floorboards to route cables).
If a cable is required, is it just an Ariel lead?
Thanks in advance

Hi
If you want multi-room (ie all 3 boxes can watch different channels at the same time) each will need its own feed from the Dish (LNB) and also need to be connected to a phone line.
Hope this helps

The only wireless part of a sky box is the connection for on demand
Got the feeling a live network connection supersedes the need for a phone line connectionEx forum ambassador

No, "Ariel" is a brand of washing powder, not coaxial cable. You need a "Webro" lead - preferably WF100. If you want to record as well as watch, you'll need two cables from the dish to each Digibox.0 -
Here's the run down, Decide what you need. Your sky box will need to be connected to broadband. Sky supply free adapters.
One box showing same sky on all three screens.
Cables need to be run from sky box, complicated. Needs adapter to be able to change channel on second and third TV. Of course same channel has to be viewed on all screens.
Two boxes and third room supplied by one of the boxes
A little easier. Cost is around £15 month for second box. Installer may run a feed to third room for a few pounds. Means you can watch different channels on two screens.
But Remember
With any sky package you can also link Sky Go and watch, not in good quality, all sky on a laptop.
I have option two for lounge, bedroom on big screens, laptop in office & mobile on the move.0 -
Cheers everyone, got 2 x boxes wired in (lounge and kitchen) and 2 boxes supplied, going to source a 3rd box on eBay for the bedroom, the Sky fitters ran in a twin cable so its 'futureproof', so if I buy a Sky+ box, does that mean I can record, pause etc in the bedroom too?0
