Opening account for switching

I currently hold accounts at FD, 2 x TSB Classic Plus, and Halifax Reward, I'm looking to take advantage of Nationwides' refer a friend offer for their Flex Direct account.
Does anyone know which would be the best place to open a basic current account that can then be used for the switching process for Nationwide.
Many thanks.

Which is your 'main' account? If FD, then I'd open a Halifax 'current account' and switch that. And if Halifax, then open another with FD.
Do you still need 2 DDs for the Nationwide RAF deal?0 -
If you want to be greedy and keep £75 for yourself, you can always go through Quidco to get £75 cashback instead of sharing £100 between you and a friend. You don't need any DD's etc to get that.
To get the refer a friend bonus you need to set up 2 DD's. I'd do what YorkshireBoy said, open an account with your non-main provider, set up 2 false DD's to it (i.e. PayPal, Tesco Savings etc) and switch it.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

I'm guessing the OP will be keeping it in the family?...as most do, so it's all one pot anyway!thebritishbloke wrote: »If you want to be greedy and keep £75 for yourself, you can always go through Quidco to get £75 cashback instead of sharing £100 between you and a friend. If they aren't, there are many people on the referrers board who will rebate 1/2 their share...so the OP still gets a 'guaranteed' £75, rather than a 'possible' £75 through Quidco.0 -
My main account is with FD, I was planning on setting up the required DD through Tesco Saving and Paypal.
Thanks for the advice I will open another account with Halifax and switch that account.
I didn't know about the quidco offer; it was a work colleague not a family member I'll have to look into the quidco offer and see which one I prefer.
Thanks again for your suggestions.# 047 'Save 12K in 2019' - £6,346.86 / £12,000 55.89%# 074 'Save 12K in 2015' - £4,379.25 / £4,000 109.48%0
