Bank account for bills

Hi,

I want to open a new bank account for my bills to come out of but have been refused by my own bank (Lloyds) and Barclays (I have a Barclaycard credit card)

Am I better off applying for a basic account? I don't want all the facilities that come with a main bank account, but I finally got a normal bank account after having a Cash Card + with nationwide and thought I had managed to move away from the basic ones :(

If your credit status is affected by defaults, etc, (as per your other thread) and you're being refused further accounts, you might find it more straightforward just to stick with the account you already have for now, or is there a specific reason you want to pay bills from another account?

I would like a secondary account as I would find it easier paying the bills when I move out (Like the other thread suggests my intentions are)

Had you been refused elsewhere though?

Ok, so I gave in and just applied for a cash account with Lloyds which has now been set up. When I switch over my DD's to this account, will the companies be able to see what type of account it is? As in will they see it's a 'cash' account with no credit facility etc
  • To be fair i wasnt refused from anywhere but i had to get rid of Natwest years ago, then Halifax they had to go too and lastly the most ridiculous organisation i have ever come across Satander!

They're also notoriously picky about their customers, and if you've been rejected elsewhere, it's highly unlikely that FD will accept you as a customer
