To all those going through bankruptcy or working up to it

Hello

I have not been active on this site for years, but Six/Seven years ago I had to go bankrupt with 50k of debt...I used this site for support and guidance and it was fantastic.

Right now I do not owe anyone anything, in fact my wife and I have 4k of savings and live well. This site helped take that burden and worry away, talk about a weight lifting. Plus the fact I had to go bankrupt made me more aware and more careful with money.

I am able to get credit again, but I don't, I learned a valuable lesson on managing my finances, and teaching myself patience and to save for things I want.

Thought I would post just to let you all know there is a light at the end of the tunnel and you come out the other end ok. Ho and to say Hi to anyone who remembers me here...if they are still posting..I expect like me the posters are quite transient when there bankruptcy is finished.

    Hi shadowdragon

Your bankruptcy was before my time on MSE but it's great to hear that you have made such good progress since 2008. Very thoughtful of you to check back in and share your experience.

  • I definatley would not have been able to go bankrupt without this site, and it also helped my niece go bankrupt after a split with her partner, I was able to fill in her paperwork and offer her advice and guidance on what to do. And hers was smooth and painless. It was negative equity on her property that forced bankruptcy.

Its been a fantastic site, and I still recommend it to people who need advice and guidance for all sorts of things.
