I have a Beko BDG683SP cooker. Purchased February 2012 so outside of warranty. Just recently the grill on the cooker has taken to going out and leaks gas when using = dangerous. Contacted Beko who have been unwilling to help me despite the serious nature of the problem. What can I do!? I don't know how to get the issue resolved

I believe your contract was with the seller not manufacturer. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

Beko get a terrible name. When i was looking for a washing machine i was tempted to get a Beko 'cos they were cheap but read so many bad reviews on them.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Contact a gas safe registered engineer. It might be an easy repair. At least you'll find out if it's repairable or not and it will give you a better idea of what to do next.0

The only white goods name I have issues with is Beko.
They are the lowest of the low, no corners left uncut, sorryI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Cant help with OP problem ,I'm afraid.
However I am surprised at the negative comments showing so far, as I thought - reading the reviews on ao.com, that people were seemingly impressed with Beko, these days.
Their products and longer warranty offering good value for money. But maybe I'm mistaken.
Not bought anything of theirs yet, but was considering, for my next project, so will be interesting what else comes in here.

Try trading standards for advice as I'm sure a cooker should last longer than 2 years.0

they should but the warranty is likely to be only 1-2 years, how long a product should last and the warranty have nothing to do with each other.
My advice to OP, save your money on a repair and just buy a new cooker...if Beko are not helping, and why should they as it's out side their warranty period (would be nice if they did tho) you're on to a loser here, as you have to prove the cooker was sold to you with a fault when you bought it,not developed after, which will be costly to do,if even possible. If you could do that, they just have to repair or refund part of your money, taking into account your 2 years+ of use, which lets face it, 2 years of use for a cooker that was cheap when bought will see you getting very little money back. It's their choice too, they are unlikely to repair, as that would be expensive, so likely to stick £50 in the post, all this provided you can prove your case.0
