I`ve been with FU since last Feb and every month they send me an email asking me to put my readings in by midnight on a certain date.
Every month i get an accurate bill to the last penny.
The DD are taken on the day they said they would be for the correct amount.
I would say to anyone thinking of switching to FU, don`t be put off by the odd negative comments.
When you`ve got well over a million satisfied customers there are bound to be a few hiccups with a few.

Beginning to sound like a broken record.

I think that the number of posts on this forum says it all.

Just the truth and the other side of the coin.
This isn`t just a complaint thread it`s about people`s experience about FU.
    Both good and bad.
Your comment says nothing to the debate, not really worth posting.

    .
You usually find that if people are unhappy with something, they moan.
FU has over one million "happy" customers, i think that "says it all".

Are you advertising and work for First Utility? You have posted several times on FU already saying they are the best thing since sliced bread.

Have you read the others who had not the same experience as yours, surely you can't discount their experiences as well, or is yours the only one that matters??

Or how about others : http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews251265.html

Or how about their official website which shows year on year complaints:

    http://www.first-utility.com/about-us/service/performance/

Just because there are a million customers does not mean they are happy? What is the definition of happy?

Not all of the million customers are young tech savy and able to complain, could granny next door who has been on a standard variable tariff for the last 10 years, who's going to advocate for her?

Or maybe they can't complain because they are in contract and can't afford the exit fee??

I`m telling you like it is from my own experience and when my contract`s up, if there`s a better deal, I`ll be off.

The big trouble with moaners, they spend too much time moaning in the wrong place.
It`s FU they should be moaning at via social media and other methods to get things sorted, not whining on here.
They could post a million times on here but it will never get their problem fixed.

There's the issue, most will have moaned at the complaints line via phone, email or telepathy. They got no resolution and therefore decide to warn others of their own experiances, albeit anecdotal but nevertheless feedback.

While I appreciate most customers who had no issues don't post, it is human nature to look at what has gone wrong and what the company has done to correct it. Sadly in some of the cases in this thread, not alot.

What I find disturbing is the amount of moaners from official statistics from their own website and wondering why?

    1 October 2010 to 30 September 2011 2044
    1 October 2011 to 30 September 2012 6966
    1 October 2012 to 30 September 2013 20,871
    1 October 2013 to 30 September 2014 26,311

I accept that, but there`s two sides to the coin, I`m only stating my own experience which has been good.

Of course if I had an issue with FU, I woiuld take it up with them.
The people who got nowhere after complaining, what did they do,
    give up?
If FU owed me money, they wouldn`t owe it for long.

ps: I`ve just noticed your statistics but they go back years, I switched to them this year.

Fair play to give your view of this company, but the statistics are rising and don't lie, but I would expect this to be the same for most Utility companies given we are a nation of moaners and getting stronger every day.

Don`t think for one minute i`ve always struck it lucky.
Scottish Power and EoN were both nightmares.

I`m afraid we put up with crap serviice in this country and the regulators are next to useless.
I wish everyone would keep moaning, but to the companies involved, give them a hard time.

If everyone in the country that is owed money by these companies and are struggling to get it, went to this site and issued a summons maybe these companies would get the message.
Don`t waste your time with Ofgem, you have your own legal rights.
