I have ordered a mobile phone from Amazon and it was due to be delivered yesterday via Amazon Logistics .

When it had not arrived by 6pm I had a look at the tracking and apparently it was delivered at 2-46 pm !! [handed to resident]
I contacted Amazon who think this is normal practice to say something has been delivered when it hasn't and have said if its not here within 24 hrs contact them and they will replace or refund.

This is unacceptable and makes it so easy for a dishonest courier to help themselves.

You need to make a formal complaint about this. All too easy for them to brush it under the carpet. It needs to be down in writing and included in their statistics. That's the only way this kind of thing will ever be highlighted to management and directors. Don't let the call centre customer service bods fob you off.

Good luck with that, I ordered 2 items, it took 3 attempts (and 2 replacement orders) for me to receive them after the previous 2 deliveries were "delivered, handed to resident". Amazon customer services were not interested in my complaint, my e-mail to the CEO has gone unanswered, and trading standards have not replied either.

I do still buy off Amazon, but generally now from marketplace sellers only, so not delivered by Amazon Logistics.

This was bought from a market place seller but fulfilled by Amazon.

They have refunded but it will take 24 hrs to get to my account They have said if I re order and pay for faster delivery they will refund the delivery charge tomorrow but I have to say I've lost confidence in them.
