phoning a mobile from a landline

I've tried to phone a mobile from: 0844 566 7566/08444 280 004/08444 282525/18185 but none of them will let me phone.
Can anyone recommend a number which doesn't need an account that allows me to make cheap mobile calls from a landline.

Hi Jay
You could try these, all at 6p per minute:
DiscountDial6p/min
(0871 754 4141)
PhoneCheap6p/min
(0871 754 4242)
0844calls6p/min
(0871 754 9090)
What landline provider are you using? If it's not BT, then some dial-through providers may be blocked.0 -

None of the 0844 numbers now connect you to UK Mobiles. They have been replaced by 0871 numbers.0 -
As the MSE UK CallChecker shows.None of the 0844 numbers now connect you to UK Mobiles. They have been replaced by 0871 numbers.
The numbers may have changed but it looks like the prices haven't - DiscountDial's 0871 754 41 41 number, for example, is, as satellitebadger posted, a 6p/minute number from a BT landline.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

If the 0844 numbers still worked it would have been 4p a minute plus connection fee.:D0 -
My mistake. The first of the 0844 numbers quoted was 5p/minute at all times and the others were, indeed, 4p/minute.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
