at present I have a personal account "fredxxxx@gmail.com , mainly for buying on ebay and receiving a few personal payments privately.
I have set up a small business supplying a couple of trade outlets , and for the last few months they have been happy paying me as a gift.
times change and I am ready to supply retail , I have registered and created a website and hope at a later stage to incorporate a paypal checkout ,, early days yet (and business account needed).
at this stage without informing paypal that I am a trader (long way to go) I would like to change my receiving and sending email address to be linked closer to the business ie: sales@fred.com.
whilst still using my original bank/card.
is this easy to do?
after reading chapter one and chapter two of the HTML book "how to write a website" , I don,t feel like arguing with paypal. blimy Im 64 yrs old!

A business should really have it's own paypal and bank account set up just for business transactions. It makes it so much easier if you were ever audited by the HMRC...i.e you don't have to explain that the council tax direct debit you have set up to pay your personal CT bill is a personal expense and the direct debit for the mobile contract you have for business calls is a business expense and not personal.
So..my advice open a new bank account and a new paypal account just for the business.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.0 -
thank you , that is not an option at the moment , however I am interested in a direct answer to my original question.0

If that is all you're asking, you can add an email address to your Paypal account under "profile". It's a fairly simple process. From what I remember you can have several email addresses on one Paypal account.
As soon as you mention new business/not registered etc you'll get people on here offering advice about that. It's easy and friendly to call HMRC and ask advice to save trouble in the future..0 -
ok , I think I,ve got it now , I have added a second user email, then confirmed it then changed it to primary0

There is no issue with HMRC and having an account for business and personal use although it is easier having them separate.
You can have 2 paypal accounts, so it really shouldn't be a problem to separate them out, but if you prefer them as one, you have done what you needed and added the email.0
