Help with a really annoying duvet cover please!

That solution would also help the likes of me who is only 5 ft tall put the duvet covers back on after washing - a job that I dread as I have arthritis and it takes me far longer than it should. Thank you Caterina.
You are welcome, Cranky. If you want to avoid too much duvet cover changing, you could use top sheets and put the duvet in its cover on the top sheet as if it was a blanket. So you can change the sheets (top shifts to bottom, bottom goes in machine, clean sheet goes as top) on a regular basis, but the duvet cover does not need quite so much changing, and you can just air it and turn it (with the duvet inside I mean) then change it much less frequently. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Cranky- it does help with putting the cover on. I definitely found it easier. A bit like having someone hold a couple of corners for you.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

There are duvet clips available on ebay - never used them, so can't say how good they are.
On a related topic I noticed at a hotel that they had duvet covers with small slits at the top corners so they could put the covers on by reacing through from the outside and grabbing the duvet corners - makes sense when you are changing dozens a day!But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I also use a top sheet so that the duvet cover doesn't have to be changed so often.
I use huge grippy pegs to assist me when changing the duvet cover, holding all the corners together to shake the cover on. I have been almost trapped in a cover before now, it's a bit claustrophobic:rotfl:

A bit of feedback. The ribbons definitely helped a lot. The cover still moves around a bit and it feels like I would need ties down the sides and a few more across the top but life is too short. Massive improvement though so thank you!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Thank you for this thread. I have the same problem, and am going to try ribbons tooMortgage when started: £330,995

How about using buttons and hair elastics.
Sew hair elastics (thicker ones) to the corners and sides of the duvet. Then sew buttons (1/2" or so) to corresponding places on the seams (on the inside), and then just do them up as you put the cover on. Also means they're easy to replace if they break, and won't fray like ribbon.0 -
Thanks purplepixi. I think I may have to try that because already one of the ribbons has come off.
Actually, the flippin cover is annoying us so much that I think it is going to end up back in the linen cupboard. It looks okay but is is just such soft material that it clings to us instead of the duvet when we move. I'm glad I only paid £2 for it.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
