Help with a really annoying duvet cover please!

I was at a friend's house sale and bought a nice kingsize duvet cover. It's lovely soft light cotton but it's driving us nuts!
If you turn over or move at all the cover seems to move with you but the duvet doesn't, so within minutes you don't have any duvet in about a quarter of the thing. I think if I can somehow attach all 4 corners of the duvet to the cover then we could solve the problem. Otherwise it's off the bed for ever!
Any helpful hints will be appreciated. Will check in in the morning to see any replies.
Thank you in anticipation. I know some of you will have the perfect solution.

I keep meaning to do this but haven't got round it yet, so feel free to do as I say but don't do as I do:

Sew a strong ribbon to each inside corner of the duvet cover and a ribbon to each corner of the duvet. Then tie the duvet with the cover with a bow and hopefully it should keep it in place.

I really want to do it yo my linen covers as they are lovely but a bit slippery. Let me know how you get on.

Failing that, nappy safety pins at the corners should do the job.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

That solution would also help the likes of me who is only 5 ft tall put the duvet covers back on after washing - a job that I dread as I have arthritis and it takes me far longer than it should. Thank you Caterina.
  • Nappy pins definitely work :-)

Aye, bag clips work really well! But, as I recently discovered, a face-full of bag clip in the middle of the night is quite annoying lol!

    I'd go with the ribbons.

Well, I have just sewn ribbons inside the four corners plus one in the middle of the top of the duvet. I suspect that I may have to sew one down the middle of each side too but I will give it one night and see. I used the ribbons cut off the inside of the shoulders of jumpers.
