Barclays business section up to 10 years out of date

So I went to get a business account at Barclays.

Was going all smooth, until I was told my company name already existed, and immediately given the only option was to change my company name. Which I have been using for 2 years, with a website and the whole business around the name.

I am a sole trader, the company that is on their system is a ltd.

As I was telling them, how absurd that I would be to change my company name, as I know I am the only one. Another business manager came in the room, and said the same thing, I would have to change my company name.

I asked, are you sure this company is still running, and they confirmed it was.

Computer says no...pick a new company name.

Whilst this was happening, I went onto companies house, and did a search. Not even close to the name exists.

I was advised they use experian for their database, and that is more accurate than companies house lol.....[Removed]
They refused to believe me or look at my phone.

I left, phoned up companies house and experian, and they both confirmed this ltd company had dissolved in 1998. Experian also didn't understand why Barclays has not got this information already.

Went back into the bank, told them i just called them up, and the news that the company had dissolved 6 years ago! The business manager earlier on, told me quite a few times, that their system is updated every 48 hours. More like every 48 years !

So they called up 'the team', who will look into it. But I would need to give them my personal details and sign some papers, for them to look into their own system....I said no, your database has nothing to do with me.
She then carried on asking questions, and answering them herself, and writing them on a piece of paper, which she was hiding from me. Questions like what my mothers maiden name is, which she knew, somehow?
When I asked to see this piece of paper, I was not allowed, as she pointed on the other side of the paper, where it apparently says confidential.

So anyways few days pass, and the business manager i saw, has now changed her story, and apparently she didn't tell me to change my company name, and apparently she knew the company had dissolved, at the time of our meeting.

I then called new business line, and was told my application has been denied. I asked when and what time. The date and time, was when I spoke to the business manager, in which I finally gave them my personal info over the phone, and at that exact time I was declined.

So they basically, telling me to do one.

I cannot describe how angry these people have made me, for something that was so simple to sort out.
They are meant to be managers with honours degrees at the end of their names. For what, little Britain, computer says no?:rotfl:

I have made a complaint over the phone and their website. I don't think I will get much out of it, so my only option is going to be FOS.
I don't want to waste time, is it worth perusing this?

I just feel they are pathetic. One minute she is telling me, how she is their to help me grow my business, then the next minute, she is forcing me to change my company name !

Not once have they apologised, or admitted fault, even though its in black and white.

I'm also a little worried, with this girl, who has memorised my personal bank information, will give it to the wrong people, and I will lose everything. Exact same thing happened to my brothers account, completely wiped....inside job.
