Thought I'd ask here rather than start a new thread.

I've been compiling a list of some blu ray box sets I might get for Christmas and thought I'd check and see what was on Netflix. Nearly everything is. The only one I can't see is season 1 of The Fall. I missed it first time round.

I was going to get Breaking Bad on blu-ray but the cost of it alone would fund Netflix for near a year.

    Is everything in HD?

The first season of The Fall is still on BBC Iplayer although the first 2 episodes are only there for another 7 days at the time of writing this. Well worth watching

If it was actually made in HD, yes. Netflix will likely be the first place you get to see 4K TV (Breaking Bad, or at least some of it, was recorded like this).
Note that you need to pay £6.99, for the 2 screens at a time option, to get HD AFAIR.

I went for Netflix for exactly the same reason thinking I'd get a lot more for my money rather than buy the box set. So far I've been really pleased with it, I went for the two stream subscription which you need for HD and the quality is good, I was expecting it to be worse.

It can be a little too convenient meaning you end up watching more episodes than perhaps planned as it moves seemlessly onto the next episode ;)

Loving Netflix and am really pleased that I got it :)

Any recommendations for what to watch?

Am currently watching Orange Is The New Black, which I like. Have looked up my old favourites like Buffy, Charmed, Heroes etc.
  • If you haven't yet, you must watch Breaking Bad!

It's worth telling Netflix what you like as it's quite clever at generating recommendations.

I'd recommend Breaking Bad as well as it's one of the few TV series recently that has really lived up to the recommendations although it is a bit tough to get started with, once it picks up steam it's hard to start watching.

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • We're watching Breaking Bad currently, halfway through the 2nd season.

Definitely feel Netflix is worth the £6.99 with HD and on 2 screens.
