Credit card providers not updating file?

Hi all,
Just wondered whether anyone knows how often card providers (in this case NatWest and Barclaycard) update their clients credit files?
My husband paid off £9000 in October, from two Barclaycard accounts he had, and then transferred £9000 from his NatWest credit card on to a 0% deal with his MBNA card, which has updated in his credit file, adding the £9000 transfer, however the NatWest account is still showing the £9000 as being his current balance and has not been updated.
The two Barclaycard accounts have not been updated either since 05/10 either, the result of this is that his credit rating has dropped a fair bit, as this incorrectly shows that his credit has increased.
I know that he can apply to have this corrected, but it seems a lot of hassle if the accounts are likely to be updated in the next few days anyway.
All his other accounts have updated in early November apart from these two, which is annoying, especially as we are likely to be remortgaging within the next few weeks and would like the credit files to be accurate for this reason, it also does not look very good if his rating has gone down in recent weeks (it is still on the high side of fair with Credit Expert, but it was bang in the middle of good only a couple of weeks ago)
So if anyone can enlighten me as to how long between updates for Barclaycard and NatWest that would be really helpful.
I may ask him to call the card providers to ask for clarification when he gets back from work, but thought someone might know.
TIA.

Usually just once a month, he may have been unlucky and the new balance was in time for the update but the old one wasn't.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Thanks, I thought that might be the case.
Its a bit annoying though, as it has now been 6 weeks since the last update for these three accounts, I am hoping that it will be updated soon to show the true picture, we had a statement last week for two of the accounts in the post, so hopefully they will update the details this week, fingers crossed!Making time for me now.
