  • I did do that. We have an RBS near by. If you're 11 or oder you can have a debit card. If you're under 11 you have a first saver account but no pass book. The only thing you get is monthly statements.

    If it's in trust you'll see it on your online banking/app.

    I show my daughter her account on my phone - it has her name and little piggy bank next to it which she likes.

    11 seems to be the limit for current accounts with debit cards.

    Both mine got Natwest accounts when they turned 11.
    Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

    You can change the statement frequency.
