TSB online security experience - very impressed

I switched to a TSB cash plus account several months ago and use it as my main current account. Last week I came across its online security check and, while it caused me inconvenience, I was impressed at its effectiveness.
Getting ready for Xmas shopping, I went on-line and topped up a Discount Cash Card, went through OK. A few hours later I tried to top up my Asda Xmas Shopping card on line and this transaction was declined.
I immediately went into my TSB account to check for any problem, but, before I could even get logged in, the phone rang, I was told a transaction had been declined and I had to go through an automated security check message. This was carefully constructed so that nothing you did would compromise your account secrecy eg you were asked to chose year of birth from several options, previous recent transactions incl DDs, were given and you had to answer genuine or not (done by phone keypad).
Message ended by confirming that everything was OK, but I would have to re-do the declined transaction.

Barclays do this as well, they text if you have a mobile number on the acc and you just reply back Yes/No if you recognise the recent 4-5 transactions0

Doesn't anyone else like speaking with real people anymore?
I know in the past with MBNA, a real person would call you and discuss the issue.
Not sure if they still do that, as it's been quite a while since I've had any transactions suspended/declined.0 -
No - dealing with people introduces the possibility of errors or misunderstanding - or even that the instructions are simply not done.0
