Barclays new savings account

I have an old savings account with Barclays and it tops up my current account automatically and has done for some time.
Barclays have informed me that my savings account is being changed to a new one (no choice) and they will no longer provide this facility.
Are there any other banks that do a top up facility at the moment?

I wonder what interest you were getting on your 'savings'
at Barclays.
Many banks pay 3%+ interest on current account balances that makes 'topping up' from a savings account pointless: Best Bank Accounts0 -
Your right to point that out - not that good.
However the peace of mind I have, that I don't need to check it on a daily basis, which is what will happen now, is invaluable
Also I've got 15 DD's some of which vary (credit cards) so now I'll have to be careful what I bung on my cards.0 -
I don't see any problem.
If your savings are smaller than £1K, just transfer them to the current account as the interest is negligibly small
If the savings are bigger than £1K, switch your account to, say, Santander 123 paying up to 3% interest and transfer all your savings into it. It does require £500 monthly 'funding', but this can be easily done if you have an account with some other bank. £2 monthly fee will be most likely covered by the cashback on some of your DDs.0 -
Switch to a current account that pays you interest when in credit.0

...and then you'll get used to managing your money tighter and more often - you'll almost certainly find you seem to have more of it, which can only be good. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
