Is it disgusting that i tend to drink it? at least beetroot pickle.
Alternatively you can put it in your hm tomato soup with a little sugar to make it taste like heinz. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

I used to add beetroot vinegar to one of my curries, but for the life of me, can't remember which one.0 -
NewShadow I would happily drink beetroot vinegar from a pickle jar, it is delicious.
Speaking of which, a good OS friend gave me a few jars of pickled onions and the first jar has been eaten, but after reading your responses I pickled 3 cooked and sliced beetroots with the leftover vinegar. I just heated it up and covered the tightly packed slices of beetroot with it. Can't wait to taste them!
I also made fermented pickles, finely sliced cabbage, grated beetroot, carrot and one kohl rabi, added caraway and fennel seeds and a few peppercorns, a good shake of sea salt and pummelled it all until it started releasing water. Then I bottled the mix into two kilner type jars, topped by rolled cabbage leaves to keep the veg below the liquid. Should be ready in 2-3 weeks if I leave it out, 4-5 weeks if I put it in the fridge. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Thanks so much for this thread. It never occurred to me to use it for salad dressings or even down the loo. Brilliant! I am never pouring it down the sink again.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D
