Faulty car on finance

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this.
Around 2 years ago I purchased a new car on finance from Renault. Over the past year, the vehicle has had 2 oil leaks, and after a recent service a 3rd has now been discovered and is currently in repair. To be fair to Renault, it has been repaired each time under warranty, but that the same fault can develop 3 times makes be wary.
I'm not sure what my options are in this case. Obviously I am unhappy that this has happened yet again but I'm not sure if I should be claiming the car is not of satisfactory quality (as I understand it I'd have to have it proven that the fault was present when purchased as I'm out of the 6 month window)
Any help would be muchly appreciated
Thanks
Rob

The "six month window" as you call it applies to used cars AFAIK. SOGA can apply for up to 6 years after purchasing new.
As far as any "claim" you may have will depend on how many miles the car has done, the severity of the problem and when the defect was first discovered (assuming that it is the same defect).PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
Car has only done around 4500 miles. The leaks have all been around the camshaft I think0

4.5k in two years? That is incredibly low. Is the reason due to the problems? Have Renault UK been involved? You say that the repairs have been carried out "each time under warranty" but obviously unsuccessfully.
When was the original fault reported?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Why DO people buy brand new cars to do such low mileages? I dread to think of what the cost per mile is going to work out to, with all costs of ownership included. It'd be much cheaper to have used taxis.0 -
Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Most people buying new these days buy on a PCP deal, pay a set amount each month, then hand it back and repeat.
So a new clio might only cost someone £135 a month, which includes depreciation, breakdown cover and 3 years warranty.
There is a lot of appeal in that for a lot of people0 -
£135 x 24 = £3,240. So "only" 72p per mile plus fuel, insurance, maintenance...0

I apologise that my driving habits offend you. I'll be sure to drive a few extra miles in future just to keep you happy. Also would help if you actually read the question? He wasn't asking if the low mileage caused it, he was asking if the problems had caused the car not to be used.(no they didn't btw).
I'll know better than to ask here for advise if that's the kind of response. You don't know me. You don't know my situation. You don't know the financing terms of my vehicle and repayments. so for you to make a judgement based on the limited information I've posted isn't fair.
The first fault was reported a year ago. The second in May. The third last week. Renault have fixed it each time0 -

Do you reckon this latest leak is related to the previous repairs/issues? If they are, the warranty should remain in force until the problem is completely fixed. Plus it may be an idea to ask them where you go from here as it appears they are having trouble solving the problem.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only.
