Grill the bacon, trim off the fat, have the fry up less often???
  • Thanks for all the comments, people. I may give the alternatives mentioned a try.

Having turned my once-a-week full English thing into actually quite a healthy meal, it would be great if I could complete matters by resolving the "bacon question"!

No decent substitute that ive found. Quorn bacon has the texture of luncheon meat, with a synethic flavour like frazzles. No matter what you do it doesnt go crispy, just burns

Stick with cutting fat off proper bacon, or try the turkey rashers instead

If it's only once a week just have the bacon. Really. A little saturated fat is not the end of the world. If you are taking care the rest of the time, it really won't be a problem surely

You could try halloumi - you can get it in the supermarkets - Aldi do it too, its very salty cheese that keeps its shape when fried so you might be able to get away with it
