  • Note to self: must try harder! Not updated for a couple of days but I've been updating my spreadsheets and setting up new ones for 2015. Still on track to pay off everything before June. If I'm successful with PPI claim, it'll be a lot earlier. I love starting a new tab on my spreadsheet at the beginning of a new month! :)
  • Lovely new spreadsheet tab for a new month! Have made an extra mortgage payment and extra payments on the final two credit cards. Got some Christmas presents at good prices. Good start to the month.

    • New glasses for both of us
    • Paid for holiday
    • Overpaid the mortgage
Going to set goals for next year.

Thank you Saver and Twiggy :)

    Financial goals for 2015:
    • Pay off last two credit cards
    • Overpay mortgage
    • Continue house maintenance
    • Increase savings pot – want to move house…
    • UK holiday (unless moving house)
    Long term goals:
    • Move house (2016 is probably more realistic)
    • Pay off mortgage early
I don’t want to wish my life away, but I’m so excited about 2015!:j

I wanted to write a diary post every day in 2015 but I've missed the first one already! I've just come to bed so it will have to count as yesterday's post...
Had an NSD and a great start to 2015. I've made some more gift tags from cards and just have a few more cards to go. Food planned from stores for tomorrow, spreadsheets updated and money to savings.
Have decided to appreciate everything I have whilst spending very little. Compared to most of the world I live in the lap of luxury. Today I've:
    • Had a long lie-in
    • Read Christmas present books
    • Bath and facial with favourite products
    • Knitting
    • Listened to Christmas present CD
    • Gazed at Christmas tree - love it!
    • Worn cosy Christmas present socks
    • Enjoyed fantastic homecooked roast dinner
    • Cuddled cute cats (and OH)
I've got a lot to be thankful for :)

Can't believe I missed another post already!

Another lovely lie-in. Lunch out with 50% discount voucher. Overpaid £77 on the mortgage - I love rounding down the balance! More cuddles with OH and cats...

I need to learn to be content. With my life - even though my house gets me down and I'm desperate to move. Keeping a record of the good things helps:
    • Decluttering going well.
    • Money to savings account.
    • Reading good books.
    • Listening to good music.
    • Using good products on face, hands and body.
    • Sticking to challenges on MSE!

Back to work tomorrow so diet and NSDs should be back on track. Good but tiring day today: Christmas tree and decorations away, washing and ironing for going back to work and lots of de-cluttering.
  • Hi black cat

Well done on paying off so much of your debts!! I too owed £25K a year ago - now down to £19K with the help of CAP Money and their DMP - they have been amazing.

I still get envious of other people when they seem to have everything - nice house, car, holiday etc - but I can't keep up (trying to is what got me into a mess in the first place!) and I'm very lucky, OH pays for lots of things as he earns far more than me.

The 'gratitude attitude' is a very positive one to have, there is lots I can do for cheap/ free, I just need to make the effort to find it!
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j
