I like using my nero software for my digital camera. My daughter has just bought a KODAK C703 camera. I have installed the software for her camera on my PC for Window98 se, but it has taken over ALL the jpeg files even though when given a choice I ticked the NO box.
Can I upload from the Kodak camera without this software?
Can I stop it dominating my PC?
I suspect not, but if you have any suggestions, I will be grateful.
MANY THANKS, LINDA

Try this.....
First uninstall the Kodak software in Add or Remove Programs. You should be able to access the pics in the camera without it....
Next, as long as you haven't uninstalled the camera drivers, when you plug the camera in, the system should see it as a 'new disk' (look in My Computer when doing so). Navigate through [the folders of] this new disk & copy/cut & paste the pics to a chosen folder on your hard drive. G0 -
right click on a jpeg image,go into properties
then select opens with
then select nero or whatever from the program list
select apply
okay
working from memory so may not be 100% lol0 -
Go to a folder in Windows Explorer that has jpegs in it.
Select one then click with the right mouse button.
This should give you a list of options
select "open with" then "choose program"
select the program you do want to use to open jpegs and tick the box beginning "always used the selected program..."
click OK
open file0 -
Yes, the other guys suggestions should work, but I'm hoping mine does, as it also gets rid of the bloated & rubbish Kodak software for good

Hi, unless I am doing something wrong, SORRY but above not working.
I uninstalled KODAK EASYSHARE software and connected the camera, but NOWHERE on the pc was there a it showing. I have win commander and enter SEARCH for it and it is not there. I went back to the software and was able to install just....
KODAK CAMERA INSTALLATION SOFTWARE
without the other. I know this "worked" as when I again connected the camera (yes I did switch it on HA HA) a box came up for a few seconds with the camera name, then disappeared. BUT AGAIN NO SIGN of the camera on my pc and that programme only has a READ ME file !!!!!!!.
SO... I re install the hated software and now can upload photos, but am back to square one. I can open my photos with nero by going to nero first, then file/open/ and select the photo. Just do not like KODAK'S domination!!!
I see KODAK has FIRMWARE for this. Would that be better than the SOTWARE? wWhat is the difference, please?
Any further help greatly appreciated.
MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE, LINDARead God's Word the Bible Daily and your love for God will Grow ... jw.org0 -
I had the same problem a couple of years ago with Kodak software and Win98se. After a lot of hassle, I got rid of it all and bought myself a card reader. Well worth it, and you can get them for under a fiver now.0
