Diesel car for first time
My sister has just bought a Diesel car after always having had an unleaded car. The problem is that she is a bit dizzy and we are worried that she is gonna fill up with unleaded.
Any idea's on what we can do that will make her remember to use the Diesel pump each time?
Cheers

Our (diesel) car has a different shaped nozzle and it's impossible to put the wrong fuel in. I don't know if that is standard these days though, but a really good idea.'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).

Get lots of diesel stickers and plaster the car with them?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

There are misfueling prevention devices out there:

As above stick diesel stickers inside the fuel cap cover, on the dashboard etc.
After the first couple of fills it shouldnt be an issue.
Its more of an issue if you have 2 cars, one of each0 -
Thank you for your helpful replies, i will put all into practice and hopefully the Diesel nozzle is different to unleaded. I will check it out today. Will also put bright stickers inside the cap with DIESEL on them. lol
Marlot many thanks for those links - Gonna invest in a Fuel Angel.
Cheers buddy

Put some disposable gloves in the drivers door pocket for her as well, she'll need them when filling up.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -

I am amazed at the amount of people who dont use gloves when filling up with diesel.Very very difficuly not to get smelly diesel on your hands without them, not forgetting it is a carcinogen
It also bugs me why few garages keep their disposable gloves topped up (I always have some in the car)0 -
They are different - unleaded is smaller than diesel. This means its impossible to put diesel in an unleaded car, but very easy to put unleaded into a diesel car. Ford fit a misfueling device to their cars, but as they patented it no other manufacturers do - you'd have to buy one of the devices linked to above otherwise. I've had a diesel car for eight years now, but still think "diesel diesel diesel" as I'm filling up!Thank you for your helpful replies, i will put all into practice and hopefully the Diesel nozzle is different to unleaded.0 -
I remember my car is diesel by the great big dirty stain down the rear wing and onto the bumper.0
