I have two lots of full no claims bonus, 1 on a van, being self employed, and 1 on private car,
Does anyone know if theres any way to tansfer 1 lot of no claims to wife, she's been a named driver for over 15 years on my insurance.
I think Direct line do it, but you have to be with them 3 years. I think thats going to be costly.
My thinking is that if i have a claim on any of my policies, it will affect both lots of no claims.

Well, firstly, if you have a claim on only one of your vehicles then it wil not affect the NCD on the other (assuming they're not grouped under some sort of multicar cover).0 -

No there not grouped.
I always seem to change insurance companies every year, I always assumed when filling form, when they ask about any claims in the past year on any vehicle, that it affected the premium they offer you. Is that not the case?
Are they only asking about that particular policy?0 -

You do have to disclose all accidents, claims etc in any car.
NCD on car A is not affected by claims on car B, but the premium on car A can be affected by claims on car B.
For example, say you have 60% NCD on car A, discounting a £1000 premium to £400.
Then you have a fault claim in car B in the policy year, but not in car A.
At the next renewal, you still have 60% NCD on car A. However, it is dicounting a premium of, say, £1500 - because the accident indicates a higher risk - to £600.0 -
Budget Insurance allow you to transfer NCD to spouse but you can't transfer it back to you once this has been done0
