20213800-holder-81c28bfdb408dc3307495496b6e06b4f.jpgI have attached a photo of the dial on our radiators in our house, only some of them have it, but our bedroom is really cold, it has one of these dials on the radiator but need to know the one which is best to keep it warmest? I'm not sure if it's because we have a big bedroom with only one medium sized radiator, any help is much appreciated. Thanks 2021380081c28bfdb408dc3307495496b6e06b4f.jpg

Temp is controlled in the range OFF to 28C.

    *. 8C

    I. 12C

    II. 16C

    III. 20C

    IIII. 24

    Black Spot 28C

These are the temps at which the valve opens/closes. A cold room may be down to an incorrectly sized radiator; unbalanced radiator or an air block in the system.

A further thought, TRVs which are not 'exercised' in the summer can stick. Remove the TRV head (it should just unscrew) and push the pin in with a piece of wood. DO NOT welly it with a hammer. If the pin doesn't move then you need to get the TRV body replaced by a plumber.

    * is the frost protection setting of 8C. If you have a spare bedroom that you rarely use then just set it to * to protect any pipes in the room from frost damage.
