P4 Parking Ticket Scotland

Hi Guys,

Received a parking charge notice from P4 parking for being parked in a private permit area without a permit in Edinburgh back in August. Have ignored the ticket since.

Haven't received any correspondence from P4, but today received a letter from TNC Debt collectors chasing the £100 fine.

I'm quite happy to continue to ignore, but not overly keen to have a debt collector continue to contact me. Would others recommend writing to P4, stating i was not the driver at the time and have no obligation to disclose who the driver was and as such they should cease to contact me with immediate effect?

  • Best to ignore completely in Scotland.

Keep the letters, and if you get too many, or they start harrassing you, then send a letter from the templates telling them the cease and desist.

No - Do not contact them in any way! This will only prolong their efforts to scare money out of you.

Debt collectors are easily dealt with as mentioned above.

The Newbies Sticky covers Scotland as well as the rest of the UK. :)
  • Thanks guys. Had skimmed through the newbie thread but had missed the Scotland section at the end!
