I assume this isn't a buisness phone ?
if not, then you wont be getting BES on it anyways, as BES requires the phone to be connected to your buisness server.
newer blackberry 10 devices (like the passport) are no different from any other smartphone, they dont require additional services to function, and therefore dont use bb data
it sounds like your old tarrif only had unlimited bb data, but no regular data allowance, which seems odd, as most blackberry tarrifs have data allowance for both (not everything on a bb goes via the bb gateway)0 -

I've never owned a blackberry but have supported some in a work environment so if its anything similar then I would agree - standard tariff for the BIS but very little regular data allowance; dealt with a few cases where some senior managers put their BB Sims into a smartphone without upgrading their tarrif and then be landed with a heafty bill due to 'excess' data usage. I hope the OP good luck and is able to get the outcome he wants.0
